Industrial Research

Industrial Research Department (IRD) is one of the four main departments of MSR—the other three being social research department, marketing research department and EIA/SIA department.
IRD is largely related to the two levels of research — 1) macro-environment and 2) market analysis.
At the macro-environment level, we look into:
  • the macro-economic data and information,
  • laws, rules and regulations,
with the assistance of MTT (Myanmar Think Tank) — sister company of MSR — and MSR’s Database Department. In the market analysis part, we gather data and information about the product under focus, mainly using the IDI (In-depth Interview) method.
IRD does the following research projects:
  • Market and industry survey of a particular product
    • Total market size
    • Brand share
    • Market segmentation
    • Supply chain
    • Distribution channels
    • Price analysis-trend
    • Sales trends
    • Imports
    • Forecast for the future
  • Competitor analysis
  • Company profile
  • Business study (B2B)
In addition to IRD also conducts:
  • Real estate
  • Impact assessment of training and education
